ESSAY SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Your essays are due the week of March 19.
2. Only those essays submitted in the first lecture of the week (the two-hour lecture session) and indicating your section number on the cover sheet or those essay that are e-mailed to me the same day and indicating a section number in the subject line, will be guaranteed a return at the final exam (tentatively scheduled for 25 April.)
(I will do my best to mark by final exams all other essays submitted later than the two-hour lectures of the due week, but no promises there…)
3. You may submit your essay in your one-hour section or deliver it through the history office by Friday, March 23 without academic penalty but no guarantee for return on final exam day.
Beginning Saturday March 24, a two-percent penalty per day
will be applied to late essays, including weekends and no essays will be accepted after last day of classes.
4. If you submit your essay in class, you are not required to e-mail it to me. If you chose to e-mail me your essay, please name the file using the following protocol:
“last name_first name_section number_essay.doc” (essay title not necessary in file name)
Make sure that your name and section number is on the cover sheet of the essay as well.
Do not break up your essay into separate files—the cover sheet, essay and bibliography should be all one file.
Essays not conforming to any of the above specifications will not be guaranteed a return at the final exam.
